Developing Curriculum at CCC August 8, 2012 Anne Close and Marta Hidegkuti Curriculum Committee at Truman College

Suppose that you decide to propose academic change. This can be ■ modification of an existing course ■ modification of an existing program ■ design of a new course ■ design of a new program You are the Principal Advocate for the proposed academic change. Be prepared that the steps of approval may take up to an entire year! The process of academic change is slow: it is designed to ensure that academic changes are faculty-driven, collaborative, and meaningful.

Preliminary Steps For a course: ■ develop a course syllabus ■ start PAC (Proposed Academic Change) form (available at the CCC website) For a program: ■ develop a program description ■ start a PAC form for the program ■ If the proposed program is to include NEW courses, each course will have to be approved separately (see above) these document to Vice President Rahman and Dean Bailes
