FINAL PROJECT ASSIGNMENT: The unit 9 project requires you to apply knowledge and strategies that you have explored this term by 1) developing an integrated literature unit that focuses on math, science, and social studies skills, and 2) writing a lesson plan reflection. When we use a theme (or a book) you can teach many concepts and skills across the curriculum. The second part of the project will give you an opportunity to discuss lesson plans and share why inclusive and anti-bias learning environments are essential. Part I: Integrated Literature Unit Choose a children’s book that incorporates special needs, diversity, and multicultural education. Develop a math, science, and social studies centers that incorporate the book you chose. These centers should meet the needs of all learners, including diverse learners and cultures.

FINAL PROJECT Part II: Lesson Plan Analysis After completing Part I and using the Part II Lesson Plan Reflection portion of the template, write a 2-page reflection that includes answers to the questions below. This paper should be an essay written using APA style and format. 1. What math, science, and social studies concepts were addressed in the integrated literature unit? 2. Why is an integrated curriculum unit beneficial for teachers and students? 3. Why is it necessary to create inclusive and anti-bias learning environments? 4. How do behavioral and social/cognitive theories explain the development of social skills? 5. What factors affect social development in learning environments? ***Review the project rubric repeatedly to ensure that you include required concent!!
