Shout out 1 thing you already know about Orlando.

Shout out 1 thing you already know about HM TeamUP.

TeamUP is an unparalleled suite of services provided by Houghton Mifflin, including: Consulting Workshops and Training Curriculum Design

Dallas County Community College - Richland Course Redesign In partnership with Houghton Mifflin’s TeamUP Faculty Programs & Training

Dallas County Community College-Richland  Brief Overview of DCCC-Richland Redesign Model/Partnership with Houghton Mifflin’s Doug Wilson  Support of DCCC-Richland’s Redesign through Houghton Mifflin’s TeamUP Faculty Programs & Training

Middlesex Co CC (Edison, NJ) Developmental Math Course Redesign In partnership with Houghton Mifflin’s TeamUP Faculty Programs & Training

Goals Improve student outcomes & retention Free up classroom space Reduce costs

Model: Replacement Replaces ½ of the class sessions with supervised, online activities in a scheduled computer lab Assumes that certain learning activities can be better accomplished online than in a face-to-face class

A typical week in MAT 013 (Pilot sections) Monday: 9am-11am: Students attend a traditional classroom learning how to solve systems of linear equations Wednesday: 9am-11am: Students attend a structured computer lab to practice solving systems of linear equations using an online course management system

Lab Component : Eduspace Interactive E-book Tutorials Videos Practice exercises Graded quizzes

Collaboration Houghton Mifflin: Project Manager, Field Marketer, Sales Representative Middlesex CC: Dean, IT person, several faculty members

Collaboration Process Needs Assessment consultation Design Course Structure Involve IT person for any network/server issues Training 2-semester Pilot: Fall ‘07-Spring ‘08

The sample groups 8 sections: Traditional (no technology) 4 sections: Traditional (technology made available, but not required) 3 sections: Pilot (2 hrs/week classroom, 2 hrs/wk lab)

Results Results for Fall/Spring will be calculated after Spring semester Dependent Variables: % of A/B/C and class average on Departmental Final Exam

Eduspace

Shout out 2 ways a school can partner with TeamUP.
