Table of Contents Reading is Bad Tom Robinson’s Trial Tom’s Trial (Part 2) Atticus Shoots Tim Johnson Bob Ewell’s Threat Boo Radley too the Rescue Mrs. Maudie’s Fire “…But You Can’t Kill a Mockingbird”

Scout gets in trouble on the first day of school for knowing how to read, and doesn’t want to go back. But Atticus convinces her to go back.

Tom’s trial teaches Scout that not everything in life is fair. And there is unjustice in the world.

During Tom’s trial, Scout learns from her father, Atticus, that in life you have to always keep fighting for what you believe, even when you know you’re gunna lose in the end.

this shows Scout, that like her dad told her not to shoot mockingbirds, or kill animals for sport. Sort of telling her its not right to hurt (physically or emotionally) someone that can’t stick up for themselves.

Bob Ewell’s threat to Atticus, scares and worries Scout for her families safety, it showed her that no matter who you are, you won’t always be safe in the world

Scout learns from Boo Radley’s unexpected attack on Bob Ewell to protect her and Jem, that people arn’t always what others make them out to be.

During the fire, Scout and Jem watch it get put out from the Radley Place yard. After returning home Scout realizes she has a blanket she didn’t have before. This showed her the “Boo” Radley was a kind and thoughtful person, if he placed a blanket on her to keep her warm.

Towards the end of the story, after “Boo” saved Jem and Scout, Scout realizes that “you can’t judge a book by it’s cover”. She realizes it was wrong to judge “Boo” when he was actually a really nice guy after all, not a kid eating monster like they made him out to be.
