Our 1 st President  1789 Washington elected –John Adams - 2 nd place = VP –GW creates his Cabinet  TJ, Alex H., Henry Knox, John Jay (Chief Justice) –Judicial System  13 Districts (one /state)  3 Appeals Courts  1 Supreme Court  1791 – Bill of Rights –1 st 10 amendments to the Constitution

How are we going to pay for this????  Tariff Law of 1789 –Tax imports & exports –Southern businessmen felt unfairly taxed  Beginnings of troubles between N & S
