By Abbie, Lottie and Sakinah How we made our trailer. Session 2

 This session was all about creating a trailer for a chosen story book. In our group of three we had previously decided to create a book trailer about the Gruffalo.  At the start of the session we jotted down ideas of what we were going to cover throughout the session.  We decided we would use images and some video recording to create our trailer but we did not want to use certain types of recordings as we felt this would not add to the quality of our video. By Abbie, Lottie and Sakinah

 We began by searching for background music for our trailer. We used Youtube to help us and then recorded sound clips on our phone. By Abbie, Lottie and Sakinah

The trailer gave us plenty of ideas with creating our own book trailer.

By Abbie, Lottie and Sakinah

 Other than using imagery and sound clips we wanted to add another dimension and technique to our trailer. We decided because the Gruffalo is based in a forest we wanted to record a video in the forest/woods on sight. Two of us went to the forest to record a video clip running through the forest so the viewers can see something realistic hearing cracking of the branches and twigs on the floor. We felt it would add a realistic dimension to our trailer. We were hoping to then create a voice over once we got back to the classroom using the software but due to the software being so basic we could not. By Abbie, Lottie and Sakinah

 The way we created our book trailer was by using a Microsoft Windows Movie Maker which was already6 installed on all the computers at university, but it is free to download. We spoke about how to use the software with a member of the university staff who knew how to use it.  The software is really simple and basic for anyone to use, even for people who are not confident with using different software.  You can use all different types of files to upload onto Movie Maker.  Once you have created a folder and all the files you want to use are in there it is really straightforward to import onto Movie Maker. You do however need to allow the software time upload your files. By Abbie, Lottie and Sakinah
