Grants & Sponsorship Officer Katheryn Curnow Ph: years experience with writing Grant applications and Sponsorship proposals: Community organisations Not-for-profit sector Commercial Request For Tender’s

Community Grants Community Training & Development Fund Community Streetscape Grants Every Generation Onkaparinga ‘Celebrating Seniors’ Grants Environment Grants & Awards Local Heritage Incentive Scheme Minor Capital Works and Facilities Grants Sponsorship – Regional and Community Events Grants & Sponsorship Program

No closing dates for the Community Training & Development Fund or the Local Heritage Incentive Scheme All other grants applications generally open in late January and close in the first week of March. –the grants are assessed by a panel –recommendations approved at Council Meeting –Note: funding is made available in the following financial year ie: July. Grant Writing Workshop’s are available to support potential applicants Timeframe

General Tips Allow as much time as possible to prepare your application – it is likely you will require input / support from others … Read the Guidelines! If in doubt, speak with the nominated Funding Officer Look for opportunities to demonstrate strategic alignment

General Tips Highlight key words in the grant application question to maintain focus on what should be in your answer Each answer counts – a small word limit does not mean the answer is not important! Don’t make assumptions re any prior knowledge of the grant assessors…

Focus on Benefits not Features! A feature relates to the specific details of the project / event A benefit is the impact of the project /event and how this addresses the need you have identified for your target audience Funding bodies invest in the benefits / impact of your project!
