Temperate Rainforest Biome Research By Haley Green

Temperate Rainforest Geography & Climate Location: Europe and North America. Description: New Zealand, southern Chile, Pacific ocean, and northwest of the U.S. Soil Type: Precipitation: 200cm-400cm per year. Temperature Range: 9 o celcius- 12 o celcius. Climate: Mild/ mountains block the ocean moisture.

Temperate Rainforest Biodiversity Plant Species: Douglas fir, western red cedar, spruce, mosses, and lichens. Animal Species: Black bear, cougar, bobcat, endangered northern spotted owl, threatened marbled murrelet, salamander, lynx, wolf, elk, deer, and salmon.

Temperate Rainforest Adaptations Needed for Survival Plant: The spruce tree is tall, so it is able get sunlight. Animal: The cougar is fast so it can catch prey.

Temperate Rainforest Interactions of Biotic and Abiotic Biotic: Birds eat cones when they fall from trees deer feed on the grass. Abiotic: Water helps trees grow. Water, such as streams, support amphibians.

What is Biodiversity? Biodiversity is the number of different organisms and species in an environment that work together in a habitat. There is also a lot of living bacteria in a habitat. Biodiversity also allows us as humans to live healthy and happy.

How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? If an ecosystem didn’t have biodiversty, then the ecosystem would crash, because there would be nothing in that area that is living.
