How to Start Go to your Launchpad, located in your dock Click on the P You should get a format screen Choose the format you wish to use and then click ok

The Ribbon Interface 1. Home is where you will find how to change the font size, style and color. You will also be able to insert a new slide into your PowerPoint, as well as pictures and a textbox. 2. Format is where you can choose different styles and effects you can also change the color of the text here. 3. Themes is where you can choose a theme for your PowerPoint. You can also change the theme if you wish. 4. Tables and Charts is where you can insert different tables and charts into your PowerPoint by clicking on the one you want to insert. 5. SmartArt is where you can add different shapes. It also helps you to create lists, processes, cycles, hierarchy, relationships, pictures, and others. 6. Transitions helps you to add a transition when you go from slide to slide. 7. Animations also has some helpful transitions for words and pictures. 8. Slide show allows you to start, pause stop, and record your PowerPoint.

Home How to add a new slide: Click on the new slide button in the top left corner or click the down arrow next to it to choose the style of slide How to change the font, size, and color of text: Click on the down arrow next to the one you want to change and select you font, size or color. You can also underline, bold or italicize words by highlighting them and then clicking the B, I, or U. To add a textbox or picture: Look under the insert category and click on the A to insert a text box Then click and drag your mouse on the slide where you want the textbox Look under the insert category and click on the picture, you can insert clip art or a picture from your desktop

Themes How to change the theme: Click on the theme you want to use, or click on the arrow to view more options How to change to color: You can change the color of the theme by going under colors and selecting the color scheme you want to use. How to change the background: You can change the background of a slide click on background and then select the background you want

Tables How insert a table: Click on new, and put your mouse over the boxes to select how big you want your chart, then click. The table will be inserted on your slide and you can now move it around by clicking and holding down the mouse to drag it. Once the table is on your slide, you can then change the style using the table styles by clicking on the one you want to use.

Charts How to insert a chart: You can choose what kind of chart you want by clicking on it and then select the one you want to insert. Once the chart is inserted, you can choose different layouts and styles.

SmartArt How to create a chart: Click on the type of chart or list you want to use Then click on the style you want It will then appear on the slide Thing 1 Thing 2 Thing 3

Transitions How to insert a transition: Select the transition you wish to use, or click on the little arrow to view more options Once you found one that you like then just click on it You can choose a different transition for each slide by clicking on the slide and then the transition you want to use You can also use one transition for all the slides by clicking on the transition you want to use and then clicking the All Slides button

Animations How to use an animation: Animations is similar to transitions except that instead of transitioning the whole side, it will transition words or pictures onto the slide You just click the picture or textbox of words you want to transition and then click on the animation you want to use For more options, click on the arrow next to the box

Slide Show How to start/stop a slide show To start the slide show, click on the From Start button on the far left. If you want to start from the slide you are on, then click on the From Current Slide To stop the slide show, hit the esc button on your computer How to practice: You can practice presenting your slide show by clicking the Rehearse or Presenter View button You can also record your slide show by clicking on the Record Slide Show button How to hide a slide: You can hide a slide from you slide how by hitting the Hide Slide button

Open/Save How to open a PowerPoint presentation: Open PowerPoint At the top of the computer on the left side, click file Next, Click on open or open recent and search for your presentation How to save a presentation: At the top of the screen, click on file Then click save as and give your PowerPoint a name If you make changes after you have done this, then you can just click save

Close/Print How to close PowerPoint: Simply just click the red circle at the top left of the page If it asks you if you would like to save, click either save or don’t save If you click close but do not want to, just click cancel How to print your PowerPoint: Click on file in the top left corner of the screen Click on Print Preview your PowerPoint, then click print again

Master Slide How to use Master Slide: At the top of the screen, click view Next put your mouse on top of the word Master Click on Slide Master This is just another format for your PowerPoint

PowerPoint Templates How to use a template: When you open PowerPoint it will give you different options to use as a template, choose one you like or start with a blank one If you decide that you want to change your template, click on file at the top of the screen Then click New From Template and choose the one you want to use

Help Feature How to use the help feature: At the top of your screen, click on the word help You can choose one of the following or type in the box what you need help with The help feature will search for results The help feature will help you if you have any questions about PowerPoint
