2. What is a Text Box? When you want to add words to your PowerPoint, you need to add a text box. The area that I am writing in now is referred to as a text box.

3. How Do I add a Text Box? To add a text box to a blank page, go to Insert and then choose Text box.

4. Adding a Text Box Once you have selected to add a text box, you will get a little curser that looks like an upside down T. Click your mouse an it will turn into a miniature textbox. The box will look like this:

5. Changing the size of the Text Box This box can now be made larger or smaller by dragging a corner of the box out or in. You can make the box crooked by moving the green dot on the top of the box around.

6. Changing the Text Before you can change the text, you must first highlight what you want changed. There are two ways to change the text.. 1.Go to Format and then select Font… Here you can change size, color and font.

11. Time To Try! Your assignment: 1.Start a new PowerPoint Presentation 2.Make 3 slides with at least 2 textboxes on each page. 3.Change the font and size of the text. Make each box different. 4.Copy and paste these directions on the first slide. Other ideas for text are up to you…be creative! 5.Animate your text on each page. 6.Once you are finished, share your work with others and view their work.

12. Print Directions Here is a helpful hint….. Print this PowerPoint by going to File and then Print. –Suggestion: Print the slides in Handout view so you can make notes as you go.
