2 1.Click on the Launchpad on your home dock HOW TO START POWER POINT 2. Once the Launchpad is open click on the Orange “P” fourth row to the right

3 ONCE YOU OPEN POWER POINT A template page should pop up. Once you find one that you like, double click on it.

4 NAVIGATING THE POWERPOINT’S RIBBON INTERFACE This is PowerPoint's Ribbon There are 9 different ribbons. Each of them do very different things to improve the quality of your PowerPoint

5 HOME RIBBON The home ribbon has all the basic tools that are most commonly used. Things you can find in the Home Ribbon 1.How to get a new slide 2.How to make the font a different size and font style. 3.Bold, Italics, and underline the text 4.Changing the color and background of the text 5.Adjust the paragraphs 6.Inserting items.

6 THEMES RIBBON The themes ribbon contains the different layouts or themes you can make your power point. You can change the color, font, and backgrounds. You can also change the size of the slides.

7 TABLES RIBBON The table ribbon is where you can create different types of tables. You can change the theme of the tables and customize how big you want the tables

8 CHARTS RIBBON The charts ribbon is where you can create different kinds of charts including column, line, pie, bar, area, and scatter

9 SMARTART RIBBON The SmartArt ribbon is where you can make flow charts. There is many different options like, list process, cycle, hierarchy, Relationship picture, and many other.

10 TRANSITIONS RIBBON The transition ribbon is where you can edit how you want your slides to change.

11 ANIMATION RIBBON The animation ribbon is where you can add different affects to your PowerPoint. Like changing the entrance effect, emphasis effect, exit effect and motion.

12 SLIDE SHOW RIBBON The slide show ribbon is where you can make final edits to your slide show and view how the slide show looks.

13 HOW TO USE THEMES AND STYLES The theme is located in the ribbon interface. Themes will make your PowerPoint have a different and unique look too it. You can click on whatever theme you want and it will show throughout the rest of your slides

14 OPENING AN EXISTING POWERPOINT To open an existing PowerPoint open PowerPoint in your Launchpad. Click on File than open. Once you do that you can either type in the name of the PowerPoint and search for it or you can just manually search for it.

15 HOW TO CLOSE AND SAVE A POWERPOINT Before for you close your PowerPoint you want to save it so none of your work is deleted. To save a power point you will go to File than Save or Save as. To close a PowerPoint you go to the red circle in the top left corner. If the res circle has a “X” in it that means you have saved. If it doesn’t that means that you have not.

16 HOW TO PRINT To print you must go to File and then Print. Once you push print the printing options will pop up. You can select the printer you want it to print to. And how many copies. It will also show you want the thing you are printing will look like. Once you want to print push the blue Print button on the bottom right corner

17 MASTER SLIDE Master Slide will let you use multiply themes in your PowerPoint. To locate Master Slide go to view then down to Master. More options will pop up click on slide master

18 HOW TO ACCESS TEMPLATES To get Templates you must go to the upper left hand corner of the screen. There is a multicolored button. Click on that and that is where you can locate the templates.

19 HOW TO WORK TEXT IN THE RIBBON IS WHERE YOU CAN CHANGE ALL THE TEXT COLOR SIZE AND STYLE. THE “B” IS BOLD THE “I” IS ITALIC THE U IS UNDERLINE. IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF THE TEXT GO TO THE “A” WITH A RED UNDERLINE TO CHANGE SIZE OF THE TEXT GO TO THE NUMBER AND CLICK THE DOWN ARROW ON THE SCREEN THERE YOU CAN PICK THE SIZE YOU WANT YOUR TEXT.

20 ADDING CLIP ART AND PICTURES ADDING CLIP ART AND PICUTRES WILL MAKE YOUR POWERPOINT A LITTLE BIT MORE INSTERTING. TO ADD CLIP ART GO TO THE HOME RIBBON AND FIND INSERT. THE FIRST ROW AND SECOND COLUMN. CLICK ON IT AND YOU WILL GET MORE OPTIONS. YOU CAN EITHER PICK PHOTO FROM FILE OR CLIP ART. IT GIVES YOU MANY OPTIONS ON WHERE TO GET A PHOTO.

21 HOW TO CHANGE BACKGROUNDS TO CHANGE THE BACKGROUND GO TO THE THEMES RIBBON. ONCE YOU ARE THERE THERE IS A WHOLE SELECTION OF THEM THAT YOU CAN USE. CLICK THE ARROW TO SEE MORE.

22 HOW TO ADD CHARTS GO THE THE CHARTS BUTTON ON THE RIBBON ONCE YOU ARE THERE YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE WHAT KIND OF CHART YOU WANT. PUSH THE ALL BUTTON TO SEE THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS OF CHARTS.

23 HOW TO ADD SMART ART GO TO THE SMARTART IN THE RIBBON ONCE YOU ARE THERE, THEY’RE DIFFERENT KINDS OF SMARTART GRAPHICS THAT YOU CAN CHOOSE

24 HOW TO USE ANIMATIONS TO APPLY SPECIAL EFFECTS TO INDIVIDUAL SLIDES Go to Animations in the ribbon. You can use animations to make your PowerPoint a little bit more interesting. Pick an effect that you would like your slide to have and it should just show up that that certain slide.

25 HOW TO SET TRANSITIONS Transitions make the PowerPoint more interesting and it is a cool way to change slides Go to the Transitions Ribbon You can pick different transition effects that you want the slides to have. Each slide can have the same transition or they can have different transitions.

26 HOW TO USE THE HELP FEATURE The help feature helps you find things in PowerPoint that you don’t know where it is or how to use the item you are looking for. The help feature is located in the top of the page. It is a purple circle with a question mark in the middle Once you click on it the help center will pop up. There you can type in what you are looking for or what you need help using.
