Instructor Debrief When it is over – the learning just begins!

Instructor Debrief Phases Stop Stand Down Instructor Recover Wellness Student Brief Instructor Review

When the scenario is over… You say STOP! –This means all MOVEMENT STOPS

Then say… You say STAND DOWN! –This means SAFETY COACHES move into make contact with their student(s), role player(s), and instructor(s) inside the protective gear! – All trainnig props are secured!

Instructor Recover This means the instructor(s) and role players can recover from their position –They will stand up –Gather around the instructor

Wellness Check This is a non-verbal and verbal confirmation EVERYONE is O.K. –You ask them – “Are you O.K. and they will response with a yes or No and a thumbs up or thumbs down

Student Debrief You will ask the student –Would you do anything differently… If they touch on ALL of the important points you SAY NOTHING! If they miss important points you say; –OK when we do this again lets focus on…

Remember… Just because they did not do it like YOU WOULD have done it – but they did is successfully – There is NO REASON to tell them anything!

Instructor Overview Instructor will check from Safety Coaches on what they feel would help make the scenario SAFER and BETTER for the NEXT STUDENT!
