The Three Estates The First Estate was made up by the clergy which included the arch bishops, bishops, canons, monks and nuns. The second estate was made up of the King, Queen, princes of royal blood, nobles of the sword and the nobles of the robe. The third estate was made up of peasants, doctors, lawyers, etc.

Marie Antoinette She was the Queen of France and was from Austria. She was hated by the people of France because she spent money on make-up hair-do’s and clothes. She was one of the first to face the guillotine for treason and helping Austria in the war.

King Louis XVI He was the King of France. His also one of the main reason that the French Revolution started. He attempted to break the National Assembly by force using troops. This is what set off the Revolution and got the Bastille destroyed.

Robespierre He was the leader of the Committee of Public Safety and the reason that King Louis XVI was executed by the guillotine. He was later executed by the Convention so that the Committee of Public Safety would lose some of its power over France.

Committee of Public Safety The Committee was the group that took over when France was being destroyed in the war against the invading countries which included Austria and Prussia. The Committee eventually saved and began winning the war against the foreign invaders.

National Assembly The Assembly was the legal parliament of France after King Louis XVI agreed for the three estates to join as on to be the Estates General. They began to create the new taxes and laws. King Louis attempted to break them up with troops which led to the French Revolution to begin.

Bastille The Bastille was an old torture fortress that the Revolutionaries attacked to start the Revolution after hearing that the fortress was loaded with gunpowder. The fortress was anniolated and was one the biggest events of the French Revolution. This marked the Start of the Revolution.

The Convention The convention became the government after King Louis XVI was dethroned from being King of France.

The Tennis Court Oath This was an oath taken by the Third Estate to not give up until the other two estates joined them in one hall for an Estates General. It eventually worked and the other two estates ended up joining them and forming the National Assembly.

France France is the country that the French Revolution took place in. The country was invaded by many countries including Spain, Holland, Britain, Austria, Prussia and the Netherlands.

Paris Paris is the capital city of France the where the first local government started in France. It was the also the capital of the French Revolution and the city where King Louis XVI spent the last days of his life.

Versailles Versailles was the city in which King Louis XVI lived in for most of his life. He lived here until the woman of Paris marched into his palace killed two bodyguards and threatened to kill the queen. Then King Louis lived in the Tuileries Palace in Paris.

Tuileries This was the palace that King Louis lived in for most of the time he was in Paris. He was moved when he was force to move from Versailles so the Revolutionaries could keep closer attention to him.

Austria Austria was both a supporting and enemy country in the French Revolution. Austria began to invade France and help King Louis XVI gain back his powers. They knew about some of Frances movements because of Marie Antoinette and her brother Emperor Leopold.

Marat Marat was a failed doctor and the writer of ``The Friend of the People`` ``Le Ami de Peuple``. He also lived in the sewers and developed a horrible skin disease.
