ADDING QUICK READS Quick Reads can be built into layout templates after they are complete. Replace an existing photo space or build a sidebar into each layout Verbal content is changed on each spread. Visual theme tie-in can change in each section of the book, if desired.

BEGIN HERE

INSPIRATION

STEP 2 – PRACTICE On the following slides, identify the location of the quick reads seen on each of the spreads. Remember, quick reads can be seen in: Side bars Folios Content modules

Coronado Middle School [CA]

Add school state.

Central High School [TX]

Bryant Freshmen Academy [AR]

Grand Blanc High School [MI]

Gross Point North High School [MI]

STEP 3 – USE Editors, or the class as a whole, should make a decision about how and when quick reads will be included in this year’s yearbook. Editors, or the class as a whole, should create a style guide so that the quick reads reflect the book theme. Hang the style guide in a visible place so everyone can reference it easily. Each staffer should work on assigned spreads, adding quick reads. Add verbal and visual content if you have it right now. If not, design it so it is ready when you do have the content.
