Office of Veterans Services Kenneth G. Grant Director

Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Office of Veterans Services Title 38 of the U.S. Code (Veteran’s Benefits) provides for an employment service placement program and a job training placement service program for eligible veterans. This service is provided and facilitated in Wisconsin Job Centers by Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVERs) and Disabled Veterans Outreach Program specialists (DVOPs).

Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Office of Veterans Services LVERs –Conduct outreach to employers to assist veterans in gaining employment, conduct seminars and in conjunction with employers, conduct job search workshops and establishing job search groups. –Provide employment, training, and placement services to veterans and outreach to communities. DVOPs –Provide intensive services to veterans with priority placed to disabled veterans, hard to place veterans and incarcerated veterans.

Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Office of Veterans Services LVERs and DVOPs are available to assist employers by providing services in the following areas: –Referring Veterans to job vacancies –Establishing Job Training Programs –Assisting employers with the Work Opportunity Tax Credit ($2400 or $4800) –Providing information and contacting Federal Contractor Employers –Providing information on the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)
