CUB SCOUT LEADER BASIC TRAINING Introduction l Boy Scouts : The Largest Boys’ Organization in the World –In more than 130 different countries –Over 2 Million Tigers, Cubs, & Webelos –Over Half a Million Cub Scout Leaders l Packs are organized to achieve the Purposes of Cub Scouting l Leaders Work together as a Team

CUB SCOUT LEADER BASIC TRAINING Chartered Organization l The community organization that owns and operates your Scouting unit l The Chartered Organization: –Furnishes meeting place for Pack meeting –Appoints a Pack Committee (3 or more) –Appoints a chartered organization representative as the liaison to its units l CSLB chapter 13, pages

CUB SCOUT LEADER BASIC TRAINING Effective Leadership l Maintain a positive & enthusiastic attitude l Work successfully with adults –Don’t let adult conflicts interfere with the boys l Work successfully with boys –Treat them with respect as individuals –Give them a fun and adventurous program –Develop a sense of belonging and Scouting spirit... to give them pride and security
