Broad Actions Completed Recommended that all references to Coalition / Combined be replaced with the term: Multinational Force The CTF planning process is now the MNF Planning Process. These changes include: Encompasses both crisis and deliberate planning Crisis Action Planning  MDMP-M Abbreviated Planning Process

Broad Actions Completed Review of Part B, Ch 2, Annex B – Commander’s Decision Cycle: Renamed Cross-Functional Elements  Cross-Functional Organizations Formally defined (7) Cross-Functional Organizations : Board, Planning Group, Team, Working Group, Element, Cell, and Center Deleted Bureau. Currently listed organizations need to be renamed and categorized correctly

Broad Actions Completed Review of Appendix 1 – Commander’s Decision Cycle: Changed Commander’s Decision Cycle “phases”  Commander’s Decision “steps” Monitor step Highlighted the importance of determining operational effect within the Current Operations functional area Recommended the definitions for "Adaptive" and “Commander’s Decision Cycle” be included in the Glossary

Broad Actions Completed Review of Appendix 2 – CTF Planning Organizations Renamed the staff Organization: C5 Plans = C5 Renamed Future Current Ops (FOPS) = C35 Renamed Current Ops (COPS) = C33 Included CONPLAN (contingency plan) as one of the planning documents Recommend updated Figure B-2-B-2.1 Deleted Figure B-2-B-2.2 - confusing and doesn’t help Task for each organizations was limited to the “planning” aspect Removed tasks not specifically related to planning

Broad Actions Completed Review of Appendix 3 – Multinational Staff Coordination Processes (Cross Functional Organization) Did not specifically review all 69 Organizational Templates Recommended that this be performed during MNF SOP Conference 19

Broad Actions Completed Review of Appendix 4 – CTF Battle / Operational Rhythm Reorganized the structure and flow of the information listed Removed definition paragraph and listed the concise definition in the overview paragraph and referenced the definition in the glossary Removed a duplicated diagram Group was unable to update figures as they were pictures. Recommend MPAT update these based on comments in Tracked Changes

Refinement / Changes Made (Major Processes / Themes Revised) Change CTF = MNF throughout the SOP MPAT Secretariat must make changes in the headings, footers, and figures/ pictures Update and standardize the naming convention of Cross-Functional Organizations Coalition Planning Group (CPG) = Multinational Planning Group (MPG) CLCC = MNLogCC MCC = MNMovCC CFE = MNFE Review all hyperlinks

Refinement / Changes Made (Major Processes / Themes Revised) Additions to the glossary Chair The designated representative, appointed by the COS to lead a Cross-Functional Organization. Responsibilities include presiding over and directing meetings; defining the and the scope of the organization, and ensuring that all organizational task are completed Facilitator Formally appointed to assist the Chair in planning , conduct, and administrative support to meetings. The facilitator should be the primary POC for the respective organization

Issues / Recommended Future Actions (Major Ones) Review C-1 to C-9 organization in the MNF Countries have different staff especially from C7-C9 Holistic review of the MNF SOP To delete repetitive parts To have a more logical sequence of the parts Updates of the acronyms Review of the validity, currency, and naming conventions of all Cross-Functional Organizations and Organizational Templates To align with the recent changes Update the Information Management section and add a Knowledge Management section IM is overdue for review ; last updated: 1 Dec 09.

Issues / Recommended Future Actions (Major Ones) Develop an app for the MNF SOP to be downloaded via PEDs vice solely available via APAN (Proposed by Nigel…. 1 star awarded)

Suggestions Two (2) projectors and screens per group One for updating the MNF SOP, other to view references at the same time MPAT Secretariat needs to budget for hip pocket handbooks of updated MNF SOP for distribution Publish and send to all participating MNF nations Encourage participating MNF nations to maintain continuity by sending the same participants to more than one MPAT activity
