Building Better Opportunities (BBO) BBO is a fund established by the Big Lottery to leverage funds from Europe and support the Voluntary and Community Sector to access these funds. Big Lottery Fund is still consulting with partners to design this grants programme, therefore some of the detail within this presentation is subject to change and awaiting formal agreement.

The story in New Anglia LEP Social Inclusion and Combating Poverty (Thematic Objective 9 ESIF Strategy) EU funding £7,443,803 Big Lottery match £7,443,803 Total £14,887,606

Priorities in New Anglia LEP - Youth Unemployment - Early engagement with young people, especially those at risk of becoming NEET, looked after children, care leavers, children with special educational needs. - Barriers to work - Support family members experiencing multiple barriers move towards employment. - Financial Inclusion - Increase number of people able to access training and progress to employment or self-employment. [For more detail see: ESIF Strategy pg. 144]

What’s next? -Working closely with the LEP, the Big Lottery Fund will submit a Funding Application to the Managing Authority (DWP) for each LEP area, broadly outlining activity for each of these projects/ priorities. - BIG will draft up ‘Project Outline’ documents and consult the ESIF Sub-Committee on them before publishing. These are effectively specifications for the sort of projects they are looking for and will come from the activities contained within the ESIF strategy
