Introduction Did you know that a raccoon is a relative of a bear? Well they are. Read on to learn more interesting facts.

What is a raccoon? Raccoons are nocturnal mammals. Raccoons are a relative of a bear.

Where do raccoons live? They live in hollowed trees. They live all across America except in deserts.

What do raccoons look like? They are small animals. They have black patches around their good eyes. They have black-ringed tails, clawed feet, and a very pointy snout.

What are behaviors of the raccoon? They can see so well in the dark. They have sharp claws.

What do raccoons eat and how do they hunt? They eat frogs, crayfish, mice, fruit, plants, garbage and more. They hunt with their sharp claws.

What predators do raccoons have and how do they protect themselves? Young raccoons can be eaten by wolves and bobcats. They hunt at night for food. They put their hands in the water to catch food.

What are some interesting facts about the raccoon? They sometimes wash their food and knead it with their sharp claws. Kits are the baby raccoon. They give birth in Spring.
