 The builder of the house has more honor than the house (3:3)  Moses was faithful in God’s house  Christ is faithful over God’s house (3:5-6)  Moses was a servant, not a slave  Christ is God’s Son “over God’s house”  We are God’s house…  IF we hold fast our confidence and hope

 An exhortation against disbelieving God’s word  Israel’s wilderness wandering when they did not continue in faith  Psalm 95:7-11  Call to worship  Call for obedience  Quoted three times – 3:7-8, 15; 4:7  Rephidim (Exodus 17:1-7)  Kadesh (Deuteronomy 1:13-33)  God swore they would never enter His rest  Numbers 14:28-30

 The application of Psalm 95 is made in 3:12  Beware of “falling away” – apostasy  Apostasy is the ultimate consequence of unbelief  Refusing to believe, not lack of belief  Exhort one another today  Exhortation – 6:18; 10:25; 12:5; 13:22  Don’t be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin

 We share in Christ IF we hold our original confidence firm to the end  Psalm 95:7  Five rhetorical questions (3:16-18)

 Who were they that heard yet were rebellious?  All those who left Egypt under Moses’ leadership  With whom was He provoked for 40 years?  Those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness  To whom did He swear that they should never enter His rest?  Those who were disobedient  CONCLUSION: They were unable to enter because of unbelief
