In The Beginning...  Intelligent design demands intelligent designer  How long did Genesis 1 take?  Gen 1:1-3

Genesis 1:1-3 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

In The Beginning...  Intelligent design demands intelligent designer  How long did Genesis 1 take?  Gen 1:1-3  How long were those days of creation?  Gen 1:5,8,13,19,23,31  How long is it from evening thru morning?

Genesis 1:5,8,13,19,23,31 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. 8 And God called the expanse Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, the third day. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day. 23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day. 31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

In The Beginning...  Intelligent design demands intelligent designer  How long did Genesis 1 take?  Gen 1:1-3  How long were those days of creation?  Gen 1:5,8,13,19,23,31  How long is it from evening thru morning?  God presented it as 6 days of a week  Ex 20:8-11

Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Why Is It So Hard? Belief in God forces accountability

John 5:44 How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

James 2:22-23 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"--and he was called a friend of God.

Why Is It So Hard? Realizing accountability to God, we can no longer do as we please We don't like idea we cannot control our lives Some are so caught up in self, they will not accept the authority of someone else Refuse to believe "God created" Belief necessitates obedience Once you admit belief in God you must relinquish control and stop evil practices!

Do You Believe God Created? “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17

Do You Believe God Created? “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17  Hearing & belief are but the beginning  Necessary to salvation  Heb 3:16-4:2

Hebrews 3:16-4:2 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief. 1 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.

Do You Believe God Created? “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17  Hearing & belief are but the beginning  Necessary to salvation  Heb 3:16-4:2 If you don't believe "God created" you are doomed to eternal destruction

Do You Believe?  Once we believe must change in repentance  Acts 17:30-31; 2:37-38

Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.“ Acts 2:37-38 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead. Acts 17:30-31

Do You Believe?  Once we believe must change in repentance  Acts 17:30-31; 2:37-38  We must confess Christ as the Son of God  Romans 10:8-10

But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:8-10

Do You Believe?  Once we believe must change in repentance  Acts 17:30-31; 2:37-38  We must confess Christ as the Son of God  Romans 10:8-10  Must be obedient in baptism  Mark 16:16; Acts 2:37-38; 1Peter 3:20-21

because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 1Peter 3:20-21 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:16

Do You Believe?  Once we believe must change in repentance  Acts 17:30-31; 2:37-38  We must confess Christ as the Son of God  Romans 10:8-10  Must be obedient in baptism  Mark 16:16; Acts 2:37-38; 1Peter 3:20-21  We must continue to obey our creator  John 1:1-5,14; 8:31-32

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:1-5,14

Do You Believe?  Once we believe must change in repentance  Acts 17:30-31; 2:37-38  We must confess Christ as the Son of God  Romans 10:8-10  Must be obedient in baptism  Mark 16:16; Acts 2:37-38; 1Peter 3:20-21  We must continue to obey our creator  John 1:1-5,14; 8:31-32  We must confess our sins to the creator  1John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1John 1:9
