Presentation transcript:

{ LO: To be able to describe and present Rosie- Kay and Matilda can you please hand out one plain and one lined paper per each student, which can be found in the teacher`s first and second drawer of her desk. If there isn`t any paper ask in the English office for some paper, please. Thanks for this. VIVOs will be given.

Starter: Work with a partner and take turns asking each other: Who might the people in the picture be? What could they be doing? Who might be the person in the drawing?

Based on your answers, write a short story, on lined paper, about the picture above: one, two or three paragraphs. Try to use 1, 2 or 3 modal verbs- could, might, can be, should be..

Task 1: Turn your back to your partner and ask him/her to describe: an object or a person( family member, a friend or a celebrity) or a book cover. While your partner is describing, you will be drawing the image of what or who is being described. Ask questions. Finally show your drawing to your partner and let him/her decide how successful is your drawing. Tell your partner what he or she could have described better to help you in your drawing. Task 2: Swap roles with your partner and repeat the process. Who was better in drawing and who was better in describing. Give each other points 1-10.

What can you see in the picture? What’s in the background? What’s in the foreground? - Write it down, please!

HELP DESK: USE THESE PHRASES BELOW WHEN DESCRIBING: In the background/foreground I can see………….. It might be a…. on the left/right At the top/bottom, this could be… He’s wearing…………….. He’s facing left/right/the camera He looks happy/sad/ etc. Prepositions: Next to/beside, above, below, in front of, behind. Use adjectives, present tenses and add personal opinion.

Have you got it right?  If time share your description with the class.  If more time left, follow the right hand instruction, please.  One students stands in front of the class. He/she frame freezes.  A“ freeze frame” is a frozen movement in time.  Ask the students to describe and guess what could the situation be?
