Ashley Hunter Kindergarten October 21, 2012

 Who writes the books we read?  Who draws the pictures inside of the books we read?  The importance of capitalization, punctuation, and spelling.  Pictures tell a story of their own.  The big letter in the alphabet comes before the small letter.

Before we can create our very own books we must know the difference between an Author and an Illustrator. Can any of you tell me the difference between an Author and an Illustrator?

An Author is the person who writes the story found inside of a book. Let’s find the Author of this book.

An Illustrator is the person who draws the pictures found inside of a book. Let’s find the Illustrator of this book.

Can you find the Author of this book? JOB WELL DONE!

Can you find the Illustrator of this book? GREAT JOB!

The capital letter comes before the lower case letter, in the alphabet.

Find your table partner and write the alphabet. One of you will be in charge of writing the capital letters and the other partner will be in charge of writing the lower case letters.

Every sentence begins with a capital letter. i can jump. I can jump.

Pictures in stories are used to provide detail. From the page in this book you can see the picture shows that it is a rainy day.

Click the BIG letters below for some fun letter ideas for your books!
