G ENERAL R ULES Avoid working alone in a laboratory or chemical storage area Wear appropriate eye protection at all times When working with flammable chemicals, be certain that there are no sources of ignition nearby Use a blast shield whenever an explosion or implosion might occur

Be constantly aware of: The chemical’s hazards and appropriate safeguards for using that chemical The location and proper use of emergency equipment Appropriate procedures for emergencies How and where to properly store the chemical when it is not in use G ENERAL R ULES
