Seat Belts Drivers Education

Types of restraint devices Active restraint device: a device you have to engage—seat belt Passive restraint device: a device that works automatically—air bag.

Three collisions occur in a collision First-the vehicle hits the object and stops. Second-the occupants either hit the inside of the vehicle or their restraint devices. Third-occupants may suffer internal collisions as their organs impact inside their bodies.

A UHP Patrolman commented on the importance of seat belts, “once a car is rolling, you’re just another piece of debris inside your car”.
