Tuition Payment Classification Procedures Petition for Tuition Payment Classification is received in the Admissions Office. The form and supporting documents are given to the Administrative Assistant. Receipt of the petition is logged into a spread sheet and then given to the counselor on duty. The counselor reviews the petition and any supporting documents and completes the form “Determination of Georgia Residency Status for Tuition Purposes”.

Tuition Payment Classification Procedures (2) If a decision can be made regarding the petitioner’s status, the counselor makes notations on the form and forwards on to a second counselor for a second review. The form, along with the petition, is given to the Director of Admissions who then makes the final determination as to whether or not the student meets the requirements for in-state tuition or a waiver. The petition is then sent back to the Administrative Assistant who updates the banner record as indicated and logs the decision onto the spreadsheet. A letter is then mailed to the student notifying them of the decision.

Tuition Payment Classification Procedures (3) If a decision cannot be determined at the time the petition is submitted, further documentation is requested and noted on the determination form. The petition and form are given back to the Administrative Assistant who sends a letter for the requested documents to the petitioner. If the petition is denied, the student is notified in writing of the decision.
