GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT!! BY Sarah Whitby

TUNDRA MAP!!

Tundra Facts WHAT- The Coldest of all of Biomes – TUNDRA. The word Tundra has originated from the Finnish word Tunturi – meaning treeless plant WHERE-Tundra is mostly around the Arctic circle. The Earth under the Tundra is frozen all year long. This is called Permafrost. WHEN- At the northern Circle it is frozen most of the year unless there is a short summer when the ice melts and creates little puddles of melted water. WHY- The Tundra Biome is endangered because there is limited Tundra plants and animals to feed from and if one species was to go extinct the whole world might HOW- The Tundra was formed via glaciers melting and joining together over millions of years ago

WETLANDS FACTS! WHAT- wetlands are areas of land where water covers the soil all year round or just certain times of the year WHERE- Wetlands are all around the earth WHEN- Wetlands were formed over 10000 years ago WHY- Wetlands are important in our world because they reduce the impact of floods and absorb water pollutants and improve our water quality. HOW- Wetlands were formed by erosion

Mountain Map

Mountain Fact! WHAT- mountains are dirt and rock substances built up on eachother over millions of years. WHERE- Mountains are a common sight and make up 1 fifth of or earth WHEN- Mountains have been on the earth for thousands of years. But some are still being made WHY- Mountains are so big because of the build up of soil and rock.
