COMMUNICATIONS IN AFGHANISTAN By: Nick Palmer, Gregerson Arthur, Grant Chayet

Main Line Telephones in Use  As of 2010 there were 140,000 lines in use throughout the country.  They are the 137 th largest phone users in the world.

Cell Phones in Use  13,000,000 cell phones in use as of  They are the 55 th largest cell phone users in the world!

Telephone System  General Assessment: There is a fixed line telephone system but many Afghans are now making the switch to mobile phone technology.

Telephone System Part 2  Domestic Providers: Mobile cellular service is always improving in Afghanistan. There are many mobile providers in the area. 55% of afghans use mobile cellular telephone service.

Telephone Systems Part 3  International Info: The country code is 93. They have the freedom to call people that are in other countries.

Broadcast Media  TV and Radio: Radio Television Afghanistan operates a series of radio and TV stations in many areas. They have 150 private radio stations and 50 TV stations. They also have about a dozen international broadcasting stations since 2010.

Internet Hosts  Internet Country Code:.af  Internet Hosts: There are 121 Internet hosts in Afghanistan since 2011.

Internet Users:  Internet Users: There were1,000,000 internet users in Afghanistan in 2009  Rank:They are the 98 th biggest broadband user in the world.
