City Hall A school web site is similar to a city hall. It provides local information and provides outreach to the global community when necessary. The major categories on the web site would be akin to town departments.

School web site overview - contents Mission of the school district and its individual schools Factual & instructive information to the greater school community as administrators, teachers, parents and student. Links to school-related events and curriculum out on the World Wide Web (WWW)

Content Information provided on site: – mission statement / educational goals – major academic areas – school-related programs described – individual schools – community outreach programs – ancillary services – athletics – school heath – school news – staff contact information

Instructive historical perspective of the city/town educational sites for students & teachers copyright laws/acceptable use policy (AUP) research tools current school-wide projects Teacher sites – schoolnotes.com link – webquests – virtual field trips – treasure hunts – collaboration with teachers/students from the global community
