Crea Proyect: Training for members by means of free Internet CMC tools. By María Jordano de la Torre, I Crea CONVENTION Pto de Sta María, Cádiz May, 23, 2003

To begin with… communicationKms C Palermo Paris Porto Pto. Sta. Mª T T T T TT

Many people and two big problems… Kms  Meetings  ITC, Yes, but training??? Communication  Language  Italian? French? Spanish?  English?!! …. But training?

Two great solutions Asynchronous tools  No real time,  For non-urgent matters,  Expanded topics such as debates on ideas to find a solution,  More formal and democratic ( Information goes to EVERYBODY) Synchronous tools  Real time  Dealing with quick matters  Brief discussion on a topic  Could be more private

CMC tools types CMC Tools ASYNCHRONOUS Forums Platforms SYNCHRONOUS Chat Mensajería Instantánea Video- conferencia MOO

How to use the asynchronous ones? To suggest ideas, Asking for information Asking for help Spreading the word (news, memos, reminders…) Designing courses…

How to use the synchronous? To organize formal meetings, To know each other in a more informal way, To have a time for asking quickly matters As a way to get in touch after periods of time To practice the language, To hold on-line conferences, workshops…

Why is important to alternate them? To use them depending on our needs, There are some people who feel more confortable with one of them, Depending for what, To get a richer training…

As a conclusion… Thanks to them we:  Solve the problem of distance,  Will get always in touch,  Can teach others how to use them,  Can know the existance of others to make us everything easier,  We can help others with problems they could have…
