8 Email It is any method of creating, transmitting, or storing primarily text-based human communications with digital communications systems. Newsletters keep people update with new research, development and so on (E.g. ACM’s newsletter, free, keep update and understand how big the field you work in). 9 It is a communication protocol allowing the interchange of short text messages between mobile phones. SMS text messaging is the most widely used data application on the planet, It’s the most common service that is used almost by all mobile phone users There are good educational applications using SMS, received immediately:, for example : Diet; manage the learning experience but not the content; (inform the change the place or the calendar), However it might provide limited information. 6/5/20169Politecnico di Milano, Como Campus SMS (Short Message Service)

10 Pod Casting (iPod+broadcast) It is a collection of digital media files which is distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds for playback on portable media players and personal computers. The term “Podcast" is a Combination of the words "iPod" and "broadcast“ Exmples: Using Chinese podcast to learn language (subscribe it and will be issued new materials everyday or several days per week depending on their levels) Video podcasting ; iTunes U (audio & video) The universities and colleges can offered audios to the alumni to make them keep up the pace of research. 11 Blogs Almost everybody can publish his/her weblog Less technological competence Easy to publish Blog’s basic structure is according to the time line Examples for Blogs: Used for personal publication. Used by journalists (quick / no permission needed). Class blog or course blog (e.g. Mindmeister, and Cantoni’s blog to support the course. Some universities use blog for each student’s master thesis. The students are able to updates their blog every week to be revised by their professors. Used by companies ; Blogs in company supporting the identity numbers, the CEO running the blog. Wikis provide information that might be either : 1.Useful 2.OR useless Wiki in companies for knowledge management E.g. Shell, (share knowledge skills and experience) Wiki in schools is not a big use Wiki’s basic structure is according to the topics. As a conclusion, wiki is an effective tool for eLearning

14 Forum (Fora) It’s an online discussion site, where people participating in an Internet forum can build bonds with each other. A forum consists of a tree like directory structure containing topics and inside them posts and the posts reply for. The basic main element of forum Post All the posts reply to the topic The advantages of forum Public and being kept stable.
