Welcome to the iTEC People & Events Directory … key points!

 The P&E Directory is a tool (in beta version) that is being developed in the framework of a pilot project.  As other technical tools in iTEC, its goal is to support teachers to develop skills (related to the use of ICT in the classroom) including advanced learning design.  Connecting with peers seems to be essential for teachers. And events could be a way to make students more interested in the topics they are studying by linking them to things happening in the real world. What is the P&E Directory?

Main benefits of the P&E Directory People can connect, share and interact with one another!

1. Find support in developing advanced learning design skills, while improving the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the classroom. 2. Identify and make use of events during learning activities: a way to make students more interested in the topics they are studying. 3. Identify trainings and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities in your region. With the iTEC Directory you can... find resources to improve your teaching practice

1. Gain visibility by promoting a favourite technology, service or technical tools you use in the classroom. 2. Promote self-organised events or activities taking place at your school (e.g. competitions, fairs, etc). 3. Event organizers can promote regional and national events. 4. Post links to videos through which you share your experience and teaching practices. With the iTEC Directory you can... promote your initiatives and publish your resources

1. Be part of a dynamic multi-cultural community. Easily identify and contact (or be contacted by) peers and experts outside the school (locally or from other countries), willing to contribute to teaching and learning activities. 2. Become part of a teachers€™ network and be contacted to take part in a wide range of training opportunities from across different European Schoolnet (EUN) projects (including workshops, courses, summer schools, and online or face-to-face events offered at the Future Classroom Lab). Teachers may also receive invitations to participate in new EUN projects. 3. Be invited to become a certified Future Classroom Ambassador in your country. With the iTEC Directory you can... become a member and benefit from networking

 Register with the iTEC People Directory, if you have not yet done it The registration process is quick and simple. 15 What do the P&D Directory development team offer teachers? … suggestions on how to use the P&D Directory!

 The P&E Directory has two main roles: (1)it offers a pool of people and events that can contribute to teaching and learning activities (2)it aims to foster the development of a dynamic teacher community.  People can connect, share and interact with one another. How can teachers use the P&E Directory?

 Teachers are kindly invited to create a short video (3-5 min) related to the story they have published on the iTEC Teacher Stories web page. We see this as an opportunity to connect with other teachers and share the experience of creating a Teacher Story.iTEC Teacher Stories  If they have not created Teacher Stories for iTEC, they can create a short video or a webinar (5-7 min) in which they talk about their favourite technology to be used in the classroom (an app, or their activity on Twitter, for instance, or any other social media platform, etc) or about their favourite Learning Activity (they can comment the ones they find in the iTEC Composer).iTEC Composer How can teachers use the P&E Directory? - Short videos and Webinars … then, publish the link to your video in the P&E Directory to share it with others (use the function create new “Event”).

 Short intro to the iTEC tool (video): http://goo.gl/Hhol2dhttp://goo.gl/Hhol2d  User story for the People & Events Directory (video): http://goo.gl/cB1ngv http://goo.gl/cB1ngv  There is also a manual available, published in June 2013. You find it on the iTEC webpage here.here  Training and support material is also available on the iTEC website.iTEC website Support material - Teacher’s workflow of using the P&E
