Deciduous forest Biome Research By: Dylan Rowlee

Deciduous forest Geography & Climate Half of North America and part of Europe. Between polar regions and the tropics. Soil type is O horizon loosed and partly decayed organic mater. 14 in. rainfall in the Winter. 18 in. rainfall in the Summer. Roughly 75 degrees f. occasionally gets 86*F. Mid Summers, cold Winters, normally below 32*F.

Deciduous forest Biodiversity Plant species: American Beach tree, evergreens, Hemlock, Spruce, Wildflowers, Berries. Animal species: Rabbit, Bears, Racoons, Bobcats, Mountain lions, deer, skunk.

Deciduous forest Adaptations Needed for Survival Plant: Leaves, Hard branches, and lots of Canopy. Animal: ability to hibernate, coats changing, and their weight.

Deciduous forest Interactions of Biotic and Abiotic Biotic: plants like Wildflowers and Evergreens take in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen for Animals and other organisms that live their. Abiotic: Animals such as the rabbit are food for other organisms such as hawks. All of the animals are in one big food chain so each organism gets its food.

What is Biodiversity? Pennsylvania Biodiversity Partnership What Is Biodiversity What is Biodiversity? Biodiversity is the variety of species, their genetic make-up, and the natural communities in which they occur.

How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? Use the handout given in class to answer the above question The less animals that live there can make other animals not have any food to live. For example if there is 1 rabbit and 4 hawks and 1 hawk eats the rabbit their will be no food and all the hawks will die off.
