Presentation transcript:

The reason we are doing this project is to find out which liquid thaws the fastest. Hypothesis We think that water will thaw the fastest out of Dr. Vess and milk. Milk is thick so it will take longer to melt. Soda will get slushy and take longer. Water just evaporates.

 1 piece of paper  1 pencil  9 cups  1 timer  1 freezer  Dr.Vess 18oz  Water 18oz  Milk 18oz  1 tray  1 counter top  1 6oz measuring cup

 Step 1: Purchase 3 types of liquids (water, Dr.Vess, milk).  Step 2 : Get 9 cups that are the same size.  Step 3: Get a measuring cup that is 6oz.  Step 4: Measure out 6oz of Dr.Vess and pour into one cup.  Step 5: Repeat step 4 two times.  Step 6: Measure out 6oz of water and pour into one cup.  Step 7: Repeat step 6 two times.

 Step 8: Measure out 6oz of milk and pour into one cup.  Step 9: Repeat step 8 two times.  Step 10: Put cups of liquid on a tray and put in a freezer.  Step 11: Let it freeze over night.  Step 12: Take it out of the freezer and put it on a counter top. Record time that you placed on counter.  Step 13: Check every 30 minutes

 Step 14: When first liquid thaws record the time and trial.  Step 15: When second liquid thaws record the time and trial.  Step 16: Continue to record for each liquid and trial.  Step 17: When all liquids are melted make a chart to show the fastest melt.

Our hypothesis was wrong because we thought that water would melt the fastest, but Dr.Vess melted the fastest. We think that the hypothesis was wrong because the water that had melted was still cold. So we think that it kept the water frozen. Next time what we would do differently is use juice instead of milk. Instead of water, we would use sweet tea, also instead of Dr.Vess we could use Mountain Dew.

We would like to thank Crystal Critcheloe and Michelle Koonce for buying the materials for us. We would also like to thank Mrs. Ledbetter for getting the cups, tray, and water. We would like to thank the cooks for letting us use their freezer. We would also like to thank Mrs. Buscher and Mrs. Stroud for helping us.
