Premature slides… There is nothing worse than getting part way through reading a slide and having it move on before you have finished… And then, of course, there are the people who write far too much on a slide and in far too small a font for anyone to ever possibly read it and then add insult to injury, because they really want you to suffer, by making the individual sentences way, way, way too long to take in – because, of course, bullet points are by far the best way to present information on PowerPoint – short, snappy sentences if you can’t manage that, folks – and thus inducing an extreme feeling of panic in the poor audience because they think, “Gosh, it must really be very important and I can’t keep up with it all and I’m going to look such a fool if I haven’t read it, digested it, noted it down and shown that I’m able to regurgitate it at will when asked by any passing person in the street when it’s a full moon and there’s an r in the month”. It really is staggeringly cruel!
