What is the 2010 All About? To fast tracking the development and growth of the country National government R 17.4 billion direct investment into infrastructure –R 8.4 billion for infrastructure on stadiums –R 9 billion on transport and supporting infrastructure Forms part of the larger spending programme, between 2006 and 2010, wherein government will be investing more than R400 billion in the country's infrastructure –from rail freight services and energy production, to communications, airports and ports of entry.

SARS Participation SARS through “The Ministry of Finance” has agreed “that it will waive custom duties, taxes, costs and levies” on the import and subsequent export of goods belonging to –the FIFA delegation, –its commercial affiliates, –the broadcast right holders, –the media and –spectators traveling to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup. The National Treasury and the South African Revenue Service have also guaranteed administrative support in handling tax connected to the event. As for foreign currency: the National Treasury has guaranteed unrestricted import and export of all foreign currencies to and from South Africa - as well as their exchange and conversion into US dollars, euros or Swiss francs.
