Enrolling in more than 19 credits Petitions & exceptions for non-major requirements Withdrawing from courses after the 3 rd week Taking time off from school (Leave of Absence) Academic Probation/Resources Extensions to declare majors Extensions for additional quarters Graduation Check

Answer questions specific to the major requirements Assist with enrollment in courses required for the major Develop an academic plan to complete major requirements Answer questions about transfer work that applies to the major Explain & guide you through the process for major declaration

Did you satisfy IGETC? Request certification from your community college & send to UCSC Admissions Office Complete certification of all LD GE courses Must be on a separate form, will not accept on the transcript UCSC advisors cannot request for students Still need to satisfy “DC” requirement (Major) Cannot go back to CC & complete once you have matriculated at UCSC If you did not complete IGETC, then will most likely need to complete UCSC GE requirements (College Advisers can assist in determining remaining GE requirements)

Disciplinary Communication Requirement Provides substantial practice in modes of communication (primarily writing) appropriate to your major You will take this course(s) in junior or senior year Course(s) are required and offered by your major department

Try to take only 1-2 Upper Division courses for Fall (numbered ) Try to avoid taking more than two major courses each quarter PE classes: 0 credits, but good activities for work/life/stress management Give yourself enough time between classes to travel, eat, and relax between classes if you can

Week 1: Attend all classes (including waitlisted courses) Week 2: Finalize enrollments (permission # required to add courses) Week 3: Last opportunity to Add/Drop/Swap and/or change grading option Weeks 4 & 5: Midterms Week 6: Last opportunity to withdraw from class with mark of W Week 7: Receive midterm scores; start preparing for finals Week 8: Enrollment for Winter Quarter classes begins Weeks 9 & 10: Finals preparation & review
