Harbor Seals By: Emma Hall Harbor seals are different from other seals.

Description A harbor seal is a mammal, and it lives in the water. Harbor seals weigh 375 pounds and are 5 feet long. They have hairy fore flippers with five blunt claws. They have closable ears with no external flap. Thick short fur is gray black sport or brown with gray spots.

Habitat Harbor seals spend most of it's live in the sea but also enjoys. Harbor lay on thing on rocks or on the beach and harbor seals live along the shore lines in north Atlantic and pacific oceans. Harbor seals live in temperate, sub arctic and artic water.

Diet Harbor seals are carnivores a meat eaters like squid and clams, fish. Seals don't chew their food. They swallow it in large chunks. They can crush the shells of crustaceans and mollusks with their flat back teeth.

Survival Harbor seals are hunted by killer whales, polar bears, sharks, seller sea lions, walruses, eagles and coyotes. Seals pups are born on land people have hunted seals for food and there fur.

Other Facts Harbor seals rarely swim alone. Harbor seals stay close to the harbor. Their pups can swim when they are just a few minutes old

Conclusion Ther is no other animal gate like a harbor seal
