Goal Accessible, consistent and reliable information  Right information, efficiently sustained Collection Repository Reporting Updates

What Do We Do? Provide coordination for integrated asset inventory data by facilitating: Data collection manuals and standards Inventory initiatives and efforts Collection and reporting tools

What Does ODOT Gain? Region requests for data answered in minutes instead of weeks Best methods to collect data once for use by many Organizational understanding of data and common place to access it “Corporate” tools that evolve to meet needs

– Strategic plan for more comprehensive program 2006 – Pilot to understand readiness 2007 – AMI created; 1 st step is to develop inventory work plans 2008 – Data collection continues 2009 – Making data more accessible History

Challenges at ODOT Gaps in knowledge of available data or appropriate sources  Accessibility significant issue Interest in data  Culverts, approaches, environmental, etc. Network speeds an impediment in more places than you might think Interest in how efforts impact and/or benefit field staff  Want to be involved, “at the table”

Tools for Data Collection & Reporting Building Asset Inventory Network Speeds/Connectivity TransInfo (to replace ITIS and Features Inventory) FACS-STIP Tool Projects

Tools for Data Collection Manuals  ADA Ramps, Sidewalks, and Bike Facilities  Culverts  Traffic Barriers  Signs  Access Management (in process)  Wetland Mitigations (in process) GeoXT  Pilot for Access Management

Tools for Reporting FACS-STIP Tool  Features, Attributes, & Condition Survey – Statewide Transportation Improvement Program  One-stop shop for transportation data  Condition, location, and attribute information for assets

Progress Made on Inventory Project started August 2008 – Complete (or almost): R1 & R3; Started: R2 & R %)

Other Happenings Related to Inventory Bridges – PONTIS upgrade planned Tunnels – COTS package implemented Storm Water – Pipe outfall inventory underway Access Management – Basic inventory for Approaches in addition to OPAL process Signs – Data warehouse & SAM-IT ROW – RITS project underway

Network Speeds/Optimization AMI circuit ride demonstrated… Slow network and/or application response times impede pace of business in many ODOT offices  Major factors include network topology; applications; equipment compatibilities & business processes (how data is shared) AMI starts to address the issue… Team (includes IS and Business) assembled to assess options Survey recently sent out, analysis of responses is underway

TransInfo – the “Great Integrator” Will be used to maintain & report linear asset data Replaces ITIS & Features Inventory Opportunity for improved quality control Scheduled to move to production October 2010
