 Some characteristics of an earthquake are:  Strong  Destructive  Unexpected  Dangerous  Terrifying

 An earthquake gives of small quiet shakes and may or may not become more destructive.  You may also see your pet freak out, or run around.  Things might fall.

 The Shaanxi earthquake in China on January 23, It killed 830,000 people!

 China has been one of the places that are victims of an earthquake twice. Once in (as you may already know) in Shaanxi, China killing 830,000. Secondly in China,(again) Tangshan killing 200, ,000. Finally in Haiti killing more than 300,000.

 Make sure you have the following:  dried food  blankets  water  a whistle  a first aid kit  light sticks  and gloves

 First check to see if everyone is there.  Next get under the table. Hold on and cover your head  Then once the shaking stops check for broken pipes and etc.  If outside, go to your meeting spot.

    

 The most recent earthquake was in China, Japan. That earthquake triggered a tsunami. So far 4,314 were killed, 8,606 missing, 2,282 injured. With the magnitude of 9.0. worse than Haiti. Scientists believe that it made the Earth tilt even more since it was so strong. WOW!
