Wireless Care

Summary Introduction 1)Project Description & Background. a)Global description b)’Jeunes Pousses ’ Challenge 2)Project studies a)Study of the material b)State of the art 3)Realisations a)Hardware implementation b)Software implementation 4)Project management 5)Project completion Conclusion

Introduction  More and more electronic medical devices are created to enhance people's health.  Hospitals and big companies are involved in this challenge.  Wireless Care provides a personal and dedicated application to help diabetics at home, by using a proximity Wireless technology.

1)Project Description & Background a)Global description Mobile Device : PDA, Mobile phone Sensor: Blood sensor  Temperature sensor Bracelet equiped with a short range Wireless technology Server: Hospital medical assistance server

b) ’Jeunes Pousses ’ Challenge Organized by Telecom Valley and consists of creating an innovative project. Teams are formed of engineer students and Business school students WirelessCare is qualified to the finals on september 2007.

2)Project studies a)Study of the material Two solutions are proposed : Solution1: with NFC wireless technology Solution2:with a serial connection

Internal view of the bracelet Solution1: with NFC wireless technology

Internal view of the bracelet Solution2: with a serial connection Sensor :Temperature  voltage ADC :analogical to digital conversion Switch :activates or nor the microcontroller Battery :supplies the system

b)State of the art  NFC -short range communication -rapid and easy communication -perfect solution for controlling data PN512 transmission module -contacless communication MHz -8 bits Parrallel Port or serial port

b)State of the art  Bluetooth -PAN -low power and low cost -ISM range 2.4GHz -range of 15 to 20 m -profile: SPP

Diagram of the Microcontroller Program Start microcontroller power on Temperature is converted to 10 bits Converting temperature from 10 bits to ascii character to display them on the PC Send temperature character by character to the PC by USART external interrupt OCCURED NOT OCCURED

b)Software implementation The interface is used between the user and the service provider. Application language : JAVA mobile (J2ME) The program will offers four services : - Data acquisition - Lunch advices for diabetic - Forum - Assistance call

Internal view of the interface

4)Project management Main Parts : - commercial & designing part - technical aspect

5)Project completion

Conclusion  Working with NXP and CHU was very interesting.  Participating in the « Jeunes Pousses »Challenge is a great experience.  We worked on various subjects: Wireless technology studies(Bluetooth,NFC) C & Java language. Different electronical component studies  We are looking forward to present a complete solution in the « Jeunes pousses »Challenge on september 2007.
