September 2012 Updates: Hahgoot’s creative works Here are some of the works she did at the Art Box class in the Art gallery

At the Art Box class the lovely tutor Barb White had her last lesson and each student made a spider with a lollypop as a body. We’ll miss her, she was a great tutor (and got me the job at the gallery, which was very nice)

When Hahgoot missed a lesson Barb left her some air drying clay to make a decorative holder so we took the clay home and made it, with Alma copying everything enthusiastically.

Hahgoot needed assistance with each step, but Alma just looked and copied. They both worked well.

Here is the finished holder (for dry flowers or pencils) and Alma’s creation. Hahgoot was very busy at art class this term, learning a lot.

They also had time for free drawing

At home Hahgoot was also creative: she made Lola the doll into a fairy using leafs and made a freaky looking “hand puppet” (pun intended).

Aunt Revital sent Hahgoot a great kit for making necklaces with sea shells and beads, Hawaiian style. Hahgoot made two pieces, for her and Alma.

Hahgoot has been very busy drawing in her visual diary. Here are some of her weird and wonderful drawings, that usually look like they are part of some interesting story.

These drawing were inspired by the “Famous Five” series. Fairies and fairy tale characters are common in her drawings

This is a story of a clueless girl that marries a guy that doesn’t like her. Might be a budding Feminist Fairy tale ?!

Hahgoot draws predominantly things from her imagination, not from the world around her.

Hahgoot always has ideas for series of stories but usually things won’t get passed illustrating the first page or making a few isolated drawings with no connection.

Top: A Fairies competition that ends badly for the loser Bottom: Fairies’ amusement parks

Hahgoot made a “trick picture”: when you unfold the paper, gradually the picture changes into new things

Top left: Hahgoot can now write her friends’ addresses on the envelopes by herself Bottom and right: Grandpa Ido sent Hahgoot a letter written in Brail! In our next presentation: End of Term 3 at school
