Bullying Definition When one or more students hurt or scare another person on purpose It causes harm or fear of harm to a person’s body, feelings,or property It causes a situation where a child is scared at school interfering with a child’s education or disrupting the school day or school activities

Facts On Bullying Bullying is different from a conflict or quarrel When kids quarrel they usually blame each other Bullies have power over their victims Children who are victims are afraid of bullies They don’t fight back They’re afraid to blame the bully Today bullies are popular and even adults may like him or her

Examples of Bullying Hurting someone physically by hitting, kicking,tripping, pushing,spitting etc. Stealing or damaging another person’s things Teasing someone in a hurtful way Using put-downs such as making fun of someone’s background,skin color,or being a girl or boy

Bullying Examples Touching or showing private parts Spreading rumors or untrue stories about someone Leaving someone out on purpose or trying to get students not to play with someone Retaliation: engaging in acts of bullying toward another person as revenge because he or she reported bullying or provided information in a bully investigation
