How about YOU decide…. The Pros The Cons Real Life Stories Easy readability User friendly activities Differentiated Instruction Lessons Lack of Special Education Techniques Some approaches did not consider time constraints of today’s teachers Did not focus on a middle school as fourth through eighth grades

What I learned from this book… Middle school is the most pivotal time in brain development for children. How to effectively use multiple intelligences to engage students into a lesson. Differentiating instruction to keep students interested. Rehearsing information can cause inaccurate information to permanently be stored. It has to be right. I’ve been practicing all day! Behaviors always have a reason!

In the book, Meet Me in the Middle, I felt as though Rick Wormeli did a great job explaining the inner beings of middle school students. Over his many years teaching, he has developed a deep connection with this age group, and has a variety of ideas to help teachers new to middle school, become effective and engaging teachers. These strategies make his book a great resource to have at your fingertips, and his many diagrams ensure the success of his many differentiated lessons!
