Presentation transcript:

Location: Paducah, Kentucky A fourteen year old boy named Michael Carneal stole a gun from his neighbors house, he brought it to school and fired 8 shots on a prayer meeting that was breaking up. Michael had never before shot a real hand gun in his life. The FBI says that an average experienced law officer in an average shoot out, at an average 7 yards away, hits their target with one bullet out of 5.

Michael Carneal fired 8 shots and hit all 8. Eight different kids. Five of them were shot in the head and the other three in the upper torso. The result of what he did left 3 dead and 1 paralyzed for life. Michael acquired his ability by simply practicing. At fourteen he had practiced killing thousands of people by using simulators. He played point and shoot games for hundreds of hours in arcades and in his own home.

Among young people ages 15 to 24, murder is the second leading cause of death. For African American youths, murder is the number one cause of death.
