The International Space Environment Service (ISES) Joe Kunches Secretary for Space Weather, ISES Space Weather Week 2005 April 6,2005

ISES Mission Encourage and facilitate near-real-time international monitoring and prediction of the space environment by: – the rapid exchange of space environment information; –the standardization of the methodology for space environment observations and data reduction; –the uniform publication of observations and statistics; –the application of standardized space environment products and services to assist users reduce the impact of space weather on activities of human interest.

Ionosphere Ionospheric characteristics actually from 23 VI stations are presented in graphical and numerical form - prompt data, last 2 months, ionospheric characteristics forecast 24 hours ahead, regional ionospheric maps from the past (3 days) and 24 hours ahead. The ionospheric catalogues of quiet and disturbed days for European region are continuously updated, as well as the catalogues of ionospherically disturbed periods of few hours duration. The catalogues of disturbances are now available from 27 ionospheric stations from European and Russia region. Maps of foF2 parameter for European are for the solar eclipse of 11 August 1999 are presented. On the homepage the computer program (with source codes) elaborated within European COST 251 Action is available for the common use. The program provides prediction in accordance with the recommended procedures of monthly median and instantaneous values of the ionospheric characteristics (foF2, M(3000)F2), electron density height profiles and TEC. COST 251 model for instantaneous mapping of ionospheric characteristics PLES elaborated in Space Research Centre in Warsaw (PL - Poland) in co- operation with Ebre Observatory in Roquetes (ES - Spain) is a part of the COST 251 model. It is used for the construction of the most of the presented maps.

RWC Russia RWC Russia (Institute of Applied Geophysics), Moscow, Russia. RWC Russia (Institute of Applied Geophysics) – forecasting center unites activity of the National Heliogeophysic Service Of Russia and Regional Warning Center ISES. The Center has been operating 24 hours, 7 days a week since There are several services that carry out gathering, processing and spreading of the total information data flow, (including both Russian and foreign-exchange data), and forecasts. Forecasting activities results are issued in the form of special messages, the major part of which corresponds to standard codes. During year 2004 there were (as well as in 2003): semi-day, 3600 day and 423 five-day ionospheric forecasts (Parameters F2 and ES for 4 regions and characteristics of the absorption and diffuseness for one region) For regions “ middle latitude”: 360 day, 360 two days, 360 three days and 71 five days forecasts of the characteristics of the ionospheric conditions and magnetic disturbances short term (1, 2, 3 days) forecasts of the solar and flares activity, radiation hazard….
