Getting Started in Physical Activity

 Hot, humid weather  Cold, windy, and wet weather  Pollution  Altitude

Heat Cramps Muscle cramps caused by excessive heat exposure and low water consumption.

Heat Exhaustion Condition caused by excessive heat exposure Symptoms: paleness, clammy skin, profuse sweating, weakness, tiredness, nausea, dizziness, muscle cramps and possible vomiting or fainting.

Heat Stroke Condition caused by excessive heat exposure and characterized by high body temperature up to 106 F. Symptoms: hot, dry, flushed skin, rapid pulse, lack of sweating, dizziness; and possible unconscious.

Hot Weather  Select clothing, light in color an loose fitting. Cold Weather:  Dress in layers  Cover your head

 Muscle Soreness  Sprains and strains  Micro – trauma : injury that does not immediately cause pain.
