Provide input on policies, processes and projects that facilitate and enhance:  Reliable, safe and efficient movement of freight - statewide, nationally and internationally.  Project decision-making and delivery processes.  Connectivity between the various modes of transportation.  Connectivity between state and local transportation systems.  Connectivity between private and public sectors. 5

 The FAC is purely an advisory committee.  FAC responsibilities include:  Assisting WisDOT in the development of, and subsequent updating of, the state’s Freight Plan and other relevant state plans as appropriate.  Providing feedback and advice to the Secretary’s Office and WisDOT Freight Policy Administrator’s Group on freight transportation policies, processes or programs. 6

 Provide a vision for multimodal freight transportation.  Position the state to be competitive in the global marketplace by ensuring critical connections to national freight systems remain, or become, more efficient. 9

 Development will take approximately 24 months.  The anticipated completion date is December  Early phases of plan’s foundation are still underway.  Data intensive chapters  gathering, compiling, organizing and drafting  Public Involvement Plan published for comment  (Projects & Studies - State Freight Plan) 10
