Academic Probation Cumulative GPA falls below a 2.0 – Must have attempted at least 12 units – Courses within SCCCD only – A1 is Level 1 Academic Probation – A2 is Level 2 Academic Probation – AD is 3rd semester or beyond (dismissal)

Progress Probation # of units for “W”, “I”, “NP”, “NC” reaches or exceeds 50% – Must have attempted at least 12 units – Courses within SCCCD only – P1 is Level 1 Progress Probation – P2 is Level 2 Progress Probation – PD is 3 rd semester or beyond

Probation Continued Levels are sequential – A1 to A2 to AD – P1 to P2 to PD Student can be on both Academic and Progress Probation examples:P1A2, P2A1, P2AD

Standards for Dismissal Student has earned a cumulative GPA of less than 1.75 in all units attempted in each of three (3) consecutive semesters; Student subject to dismissal if the percentage of units in which the student has enrolled for which entries of “W”, “I”, and “NP/NC” are recorded in at least three consecutive semesters reaches or exceeds fifty percent (50%). Effective Fall 2012, AR 4255 changes to: – GPA increased from 1.75 to 2.0 AND – Complete more than 50% of all units attempted

Examples:

Readmitted Students After Disqual STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN READMITTED AFTER SITTING OUT FOR DISQUALIFICATION If a student was previously disqualified and required to sit-out, AR 4255 states “if the student fails to maintain (1) a semester GPA of at least 2.0; or (2) fails to complete more than fifty percent (50%) of the units in the first semester of re- admittance following his/her initial dismissal, the student shall be dismissed for a period of one year, excluding summer sessions.” “If the student fails to meet these academic and progress standards during the next semester in which he/she is readmitted, the student will be dismissed again. After the third dismissal, the student may petition for readmission after two years.” The 3 consecutive semesters criteria does not apply to readmitted students (as indicated in the exception chart above). Students previously on DQ1 who are on DQP again will be coded as DQP, Pending 2 nd Disqual; Students previously on DQ2 who are on DQP again will be coded as DQP, Pending 3 rd Disqual;
