Series:Tailspin Getting Deep With God Sr Pastor Lawrence R Robertson Jr Turning Point Church

The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” Job1:8

9Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing? 10“Have You not made a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11“But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will surely curse You to Your face.” 12Then the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord. Job 1:9-12

Four truths about the Chaos.

1.God is always in control not you.

13Now on the day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, 14a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, 15and the Sabeans attacked and took them. They also slew the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

16While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” 17While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The Chaldeans formed three bands and made a raid on the camels and took them and slew the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

18While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, 19and behold, a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people and they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” Job1:13-19

2.Satan and the powers of darkness are always subject to God.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. Job 1:6 “Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him.” Job 1:12

19We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. 1 John 5:19

4You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

8Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1Peter 5:8

3.The chaos that you’re going through is ultimately for one reason, which is to worship God.

20 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped. Job 1:20

2And His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?” 3Jesus answered, “It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him. John 9:2-3

4.You have to hold on by Faith.

67So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to go away also, do you?” 68Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. 69“We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.” 70Jesus answered them, “Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?” John 6:67-70

21He said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” 22Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God. Job 1:21-22

6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Isaiah 55:6
